Biography

"The study of evolution is the study of ourselves, our origins, and the very nature of life itself." — Richard Dawkins

Hello! I’m Rohan Nath, a researcher deeply engaged in the fascinating journey of evolution, pharmacology, and pharmacogenomics of G Protein-Coupled Receptors (GPCRs). My research aims to personalize drug design by enhancing our understanding of GPCRs and their pivotal roles in biological processes.

I completed my undergraduate studies in Zoology Honours at the University of Calcutta and pursued an integrated PhD at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Berhampur, after clearing the IIT-JAM and JGEEBILS national exams. I earned my MS there and am now a graduate student in the Comparative and Evolutionary Genomics Lab, under the mentorship of Dr. Arunkumar Krishnan. My work focuses on the evolution of proteins, with a special emphasis on GPCRs, their pharmacology, and molecular dynamics. I am also passionate about pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine.

In addition, I explore lineage-specific expansions, phylogenomics, and the genome, transcriptome, and proteome of various species. I enjoy handling large datasets and experimenting with different visualization methods using tools like Blender and R.

Feel free to explore my research, projects, and publications through the links provided on this site. Thank you for visiting!
